Lisa Archontidi-Tsaldaraki

'Indisputably virtuosic, perpetually mobile, the violinist brought out fully the Wagnerian melodic references in Kalomiris' Sonata for violin and piano' Horiatakis, Athinorama 2023

'Lisa is an exceptional musician, producing playing of notable authority, balanced by a beguiling sensitivity' Haydn Dickenson, concert pianist (review of CD Launch concert at Benslow Foundation), 2023.

'[...] Archontidi-Tsaldaraki delivers this virtuosic finale with confidence. She also shines in the dramatic, cadenza-like opening of the Ravel, with expressive hints of the rhythms to come, and the swirling wild race to the finish is impressive. Szymanowski’s Nocturne is suitably mysterious and dark, and the Tarantella’s crashing wild opening is followed by a virtuosic display full of drive and energy to finish.  A strong debut disc from Archontidi-Tsaldaraki' Nick Boston, Classical Notes 2023.

Lisa Archontidi-Tsaldaraki is a Greek violinist and Convivium Artist. She recorded her debut solo CD, “Rhapsody” for Convivium Records (distributed by Naxos UK and US), featuring an all-20th century programme of Britten, Ravel, Szymanowski, Constantinidis and Kalomiris; her CD was released in March 2023.

Lisa debuted at the Athens Megaron in 2023 and has twice performed live as a guest of Sound Out on Resonance FM 104.4. In 2019, Lisa toured Germany as a soloist with the Bromley Youth Chamber Orchestra, culminating with a performance in Leipzig at the Bach Denkmal. Other highlights include Steinway Hall, Portsmouth Cathedral, St Michael’s Sittingbourne, Benslow ILS for their 90th anniversary, and having two articles published in the Strad magazine.

She was awarded Silver prize at the Convimus International Violin Competition in July 2022, as well as top prizes at the Primuz, Medici, and Napolinova International Competitions in 2021. Lisa also won the 1st prize and the title of Young Musician of the Year in the Rotary South-East England and Gibraltar District Competition in 2019.

Lisa founded the Arquia Duo with fellow pianist, Tiffany Qiu, in 2020. Their performance of the Debussy Violin Sonata was presented at the 2020 AEMC Conference in Italy and it was subsequently included in the book and CD publication (Vernon Press, 2021).
